VANA Sports Association was founded in 2025 in Borgenhaugen, Norway with a strong belief that sports can truly change lives. For us, sports are much more than physical activity: they are a way to build resilience, strengthen communities, and improve overall quality of life. From the beginning, our aim has been to create opportunities for people to engage in healthy, meaningful activities that promote both personal well-being and social connection.


We live in a time where sedentary lifestyles, stress, and isolation have become common challenges. Sports offer a natural solution to these issues by improving physical health, reducing mental strain, and encouraging social interaction. At VANA Sports Association, we see sports as a tool for empowerment and inclusion. We believe that when people move together, they also grow together; learning teamwork, respect, and confidence along the way.


Our mission is to promote active and healthy living through accessible sports initiatives that cater to people of all backgrounds. We aim to create a safe and inclusive environment where individuals can explore their potential, develop new skills, and experience the benefits of an active lifestyle.


Our vision is to inspire and empower young people through sports, starting with our local community in Norway and extending to youth across Europe. We aim to create opportunities that motivate young people to embrace active and healthy lifestyles, while fostering values such as teamwork, inclusion, and resilience. We hope to build a culture where sports become a source of inspiration and personal growth for individuals from diverse backgrounds.

MEET OUR TEAM

                            ALPER DORUM

Alper has a personal and academic interest in sports and active living. During his university years, he was an active member of the athletics club, where he participated in organizing local running events and fitness challenges for students. His involvement helped him develop skills in event planning, coordination, and engaging young people in physical activities. Alper is passionate about creating inclusive environments where everyone feels motivated to move and stay healthy. Within the project, he brings valuable organizational skills, a strong understanding of community sports engagement, and experience in promoting healthy habits through practical initiatives.

                GÜLŞEN DORUM

Gülşen has a background in health promotion and has been involved in community-based initiatives that encourage well-being through physical activity. She has participated in several workshops and local campaigns focusing on the benefits of sports for mental and physical health. Gülşen has also contributed to planning and delivering sessions that combine exercise with awareness-raising on topics such as healthy eating and stress management. She brings excellent communication and facilitation skills to the project, as well as a strong commitment to creating safe and supportive spaces for learning and participation.

                            LARS HENRIKSEN

Lars is a qualified nutrition and wellness professional with experience in guiding individuals toward healthier lifestyles. He has worked as a dietitian, providing personalized nutrition advice and designing balanced diet plans that complement active living. Lars is particularly interested in the relationship between nutrition and sports performance and has led small group sessions on topics such as healthy meal preparation, hydration strategies, and energy balance for active individuals. In the project, Lars will contribute his expertise in nutrition and health education, ensuring that the approach to physical activity is complemented by a strong focus on dietary well-being.
